What’s more, motorcycle tours in South Africa afford you the opportunity to see cultural attractions and historical sites.

So if you’ve chosen to go on a motorcycle tour, it is a great idea to go on longer trips. However, you need to know how to pack right and light to avoid packing unnecessary items.

Therefore, there are ways to pack light on a motorcycle:

  • When packing for a road trip, place your items on the floor and look at them. Now put away 25 percent you won’t need. But, don’t put away a gear you will need.
  • Think about the destination. Consider the weather, temperature, terrain, and pack items that will keep you comfortable while touring South Africa by a motorcycle.
  • It is better to roll your clothes than fold them, as folding take up a lot of space. Pack the lightest shoe you have if you won’t walk a long distance. You can also pack flip-flop if the weather is conducive. Put your shoes (if necessary), in your bag the shoe’s space as an added packing space for little items.
  • Don’t fill your bag to the brim, you may need the space for supplies or souvenirs or supplies you’ll need during the tour.
  • Make sure your toolkit contains only the items you need. Do not pack unnecessary items – If you’ll need a gaffa tape, wrap them around a pen – it’ll use up less space than a full roll.
  • You can put a lot of items into a rucksack and tank bag, but sort your gear between the two. Place the heavy, small items like shoes and disc locks in your tank bag. For the rucksack, do the opposite for your rucksack – put lights, large, items like clothes in your rucksack.
  • Carry only travel toiletries, don’t take a complete set of toiletries – this will save enough space because they’re large items.
  • Do not take an old tent for your riding trip. Invest investing in a unique tent that’s not heavy and packs up small. You will find a lot of are motorcycle-specific tents in stores. The same rule goes for your sleeping bag.
  • Leave your big camera at home. You can use a smartphone to capture South Africa’s epic scenery shot. Moreover, you can put your phone in pockets, saving you a lot of bag space.
  • If you love to read, use your mobile device to download books rather than carrying bulky and big books. In addition, you can do the same for maps too.

If you follow these steps to packing light, you will definitely have a comfortable and stress-free ride in South Africa.
